Sonnet

The Mode Sonnet has been on my list of boards I need to check out for quiet awhile and I have seen and heard about it from so many reviewers. I am a big fan of the TKL (ten keyless) form factor and the sonnet always seemed like a nice board but also kind of boring. After watching Alexotos build yet another sonnet and sing its praises I finally gave in and bought one.

I went with the E-White and Copper Sonnet and built it with a POM plate, Lubed SP Stargirl Switches, Durock V2 stabilizers and GMK Prepress Keycaps. I am using it with my E-White Mammoth 20 numbpad because I work with numbers too much to not have a numbpad.

So far this board has really impressed me. The weight of the copper is really nice and the board does not move from where I place it. I know there are really nice light boards but my brain always seems to think heavy equals quality. There is some truth to that in the fact that there is no ping to this board.

I still find the back of this board to be pretty boring but I cant blame them when really how often am I go to be flipping this over. The feet are boring and the 2 screws is a pretty cool way to assemble the board but I am not a fan of how it looks.
The side of this board has some nice curves which really help when lifting up this ridiculously heavy board. I think this board looks amazing from any angle that is seen in normal use.

I feel like I have completely embraced the hype on this one and plan on continuing to use this as my new daily driver at work. I think it should be noted I have heard complaints about the non copper versions being a bit light but I can't comment on that.
I plan on adding to this review once I have had more time with this board but wanted to get out initial thoughts.
