Mammoth 75

This review should have been my first as I have had it the longest. This keyboard was the first custom keyboard I fully built myself. My best friend had built me some and I had bought already assembled keyboards but this was my first try doing it on my own. I went though before doing this review and took it apart and rebuilt it with the knowledge I have gained from building 30+ other boards.

With the tear down I noticed so many things I had done wrong or thought didn't matter when I first built it. I had ignored all the foam because I didn't care. The switches were mx browns I had pulled from another board and cherry clip in stabilizers all stock no lube. When I picked up the board and started typing I cringed.

After taking everything apart and adding in the included foam, swapping the switches for some lubed and filmed Stargirls and replacing the stabs with Durrock V2 screw ins lubed and tuned the board feels and sounds beautiful.

I am a big fan of a poppy feel and a marble like sound and this setup is perfect for me. The other thing I always love is the know and boy does this one have a big one. I love how this board looks. The knob turns with a very smooth notched feeling where you know exactly how far you are adjusting the volume by the click you can feel but not hear.

The bad sides of this board include the tolerances on the knob. I still love the knob but there is a bit of a wobble to it and the click isn't very satisfying. Overall the knob feels a lot cheaper and less premium than the rest of the board.
